In the central Troodos Mountains, north of Oikos (Nicosia district) in the Marathasa valley, on the east bank of the Setrachos at 600m a.s.l. The church now serves as the village cemetery chapel.

Description: The small single-aisled vaulted structure with semi-circular apse was built in local sideropetra rubble with some brick (mainly in the apse window). The barrel vault is carried by a heavy rib arch on engaged piers. Over the west door there is a horse-shoe relieving arch in brick. The surviving fragments of fresco decoration are very damaged (Dormition over the west door).

Dating: A 12th century date or at least a terminus ante quem is provided by the fresco decoration [MKE 10, 245] and the architecture.

Later additions / alterations: An open portico was added to the west.

Modern repairs: The roof was repaired in 1979 and the frescoes were treated in the early 1990s [ARDA 1979, 14, 1991, 20].

Plan / section: Papacostas (1999a) vol. 3, fig. 203.
